How You Will Know That You Are Suffering From Coronavirus

How to know you are suffering from coronavirus? More than 80% of people with coronavirus have only a mild form of the disease, with few or no symptoms. This is indeed a crucial matter to know whether you are suffering from coronavirus.

The coronavirus is concerned about its rapid spread since the majority of patients develop only a mild to moderate form of COVID-19. You may come to know that you are suffering from coronavirus from mild to moderate form of COVID-19. But because the disease can range from completely asymptomatic to severe and life-threatening, it can be difficult to know what experts mean by “mild”. We have already mentioned in our previous article whether coronavirus is more dangerous before symptoms.

We should keep in mind that a patient can progress much more serious signs from mild coronavirus form. Indeed, serious signs require medical attention. However, unfortunately, we have no way to know who may experience this type of sudden worsening. Indeed, a study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases and conducted on the first patients hospitalized in France, shows that the pathology can evolve in three different forms:

  • A clinical presentation with very few symptoms, which improves rapidly.
  • A reassuring initial phase, followed by a worsening about 10 days after the onset of the disease.
  • A serious presentation from the outset, which rapidly progresses to multi-vascular failure.

This is why it is important to monitor your symptoms during confinement – especially if you are alone in your home.

How To Know That You Are Suffering From Coronavirus

The main symptoms are fever or a feeling of fever and cough,” says the Department of Health on its website. But as more and more findings were made, this list has expanded to include:

  • headaches,
  • runny nose,
  • sore throat,
  • weakness,
  • fatigue,
  • muscle aches,
  • nausea,
  • stomach upset,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhoea,
  • loss of smell,
  • loss of taste, and
  • conjunctivitis.

This is a particularly long and confusing list. Can you get coronavirus without a fever? Can stomach aches and diarrhoea be our only symptoms? Is it possible to know that you are suffering from coronavirus/ COVID-19 and you don’t know about it?

All these questions are legitimate. And have the same answer- yes, it is possible. Indeed, it seems that this disease can take very different forms. The probability of contracting the coronavirus depends in part on possible contact with an infected person.

At this time, the biggest unknown is whether there are many cases in your environment since tests are only done on patients with the most severe symptoms. If you have one or more of the signs listed above, it is quite possible that you may have developed the disease. But keep in mind, only a test can confirm this.
